The Federal Universal Service Fund (USF) rate for business customers descreased from 17.9% to 17.14%, effective April 1, 2012. The USF surcharge is used to keep local telephone service affordable for all customers. The fund supports the telecommunications needs of consumers living in high-cost service areas, low-income households, schools, libraries and rural healthcare providers. The charge is set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and is adjusted on your Layer2 bill quarterly as the costs charged by the fund change.

Layer2 is happy to announce the establishment of an Advisory Board (“AB”).

The AB is an organization representing and promoting the collective interests of L2C. This Board is a structured organization comprised of representatives, hand selected and nominated by the L2C Board of Directors in consultation with L2C’s Executive Management team, who are experts in key areas of interest to L2C.

We look forward to announcing the new Board members soon!
